Our History
Milestones
The path from early contracting work to Primera Barndominium Group.
- 1985
Paul Parker started contracting. Contracted golf course construction, land development, irrigation design and installation.
- 2002
Primera LLC was founded. Building new construction and remodeling of residential and commercial projects and post frame structures.
- 2006
Managing partner for acquisition, development and construction of residential & commercial projects. Included are Netherwood Condominiums (Brownsboro Rd.), Academy Estates at Landis Lakes, and Taylorhurst mixed-use development at Stony Brook.
- 2011–2024
Primera Services was involved in new construction of custom homes and total gut, rehabilitation and sale of dozens of historic homes and structures in Old Louisville, The Highlands, St. Matthews, and other areas of Louisville.
- 2024–present
Managing Partner in Primera Barndominium Group.

Paul Parker
Owner
Paul Parker began contracting in 1985, working on golf course construction, land development, and irrigation systems. In 2002 he founded Primera LLC, leading new construction, remodeling, and post-frame projects. Over the following decades he managed residential and commercial acquisitions, developments, and historic home rehabilitations across Louisville before becoming Managing Partner in Primera Barndominium Group in 2024.
James Shawver
Owner
I've been in the construction industry for 33 years. My experience includes five years of red iron erection, 10 years of post-frame construction, and extensive work building custom homes and barns. I've also worked on custom interior and exterior designs, including open-concept layouts, roofing, siding, masonry, and other cladding systems. I take pride in quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and bringing each customer's vision to life.
